AQ – Ski Service, Waxing & Binding Adjustment

Does your ski service use fluorine-free products?

Yes, our service uses fluorine-free products.

Which ski-servicing services does K&K offer?

In winter, we offer professional ski servicing and waxing. The exact services and current prices are available in the shop or on the website.

How long does ski servicing take at K&K Sports?

A ski service is normally completed overnight. Please allow approximately 16 hours. During peak periods, processing may take longer; you will receive the specific collection time when you leave the skis with us.

Is same-day servicing available?

Depending on the drop-off time, workload and type of work required, a faster service may be possible, but it cannot be guaranteed. For a normal ski service, please allow around 16 hours, i.e. overnight processing. Waxing only can often be completed more quickly.

Can I bring privately owned or externally purchased skis for servicing?

Yes. We generally service privately owned skis, provided their technical condition allows safe work to be carried out.

Do you offer snowboard servicing?

At present, we can wax snowboards. Additional work depends on the season, workshop workload and technical feasibility; please ask directly in the shop.

How is the ski binding adjusted?

The binding is professionally adjusted according to the binding manufacturer’s instructions and your personal data. We particularly need age, height, weight, ski-boot sole length and ability level.

Why must height, weight and ability level be accurate?

These details affect safe binding adjustment and the selection of suitable equipment. Report any changes or incorrect information no later than collection.

Does K&K adjust bindings on privately owned skis?

Yes, binding adjustment on privately owned equipment is generally possible. The components must be technically suitable and compatible. The current service price is available in the shop.

What type of soles do K&K rental ski boots have?

All our rental ski boots are equipped with GripWalk soles. If you rent ski boots only and want to use your own skis, the bindings must be GripWalk-compatible or specifically approved for GripWalk soles.

Can I use rented ski boots with my own skis?

Yes, but only if the bindings on your own skis are GripWalk-compatible or specifically approved by the manufacturer for GripWalk soles. All our rental ski boots use GripWalk soles exclusively. Bring your own skis when collecting the boots so that we can check the bindings, compatibility and adjustment. If the bindings are not GripWalk-compatible, our rental boots must not be used with those skis.

What should I do if the binding releases unusually often or does not work correctly?

Do not simply continue skiing. Visit a location immediately for inspection and do not alter the binding yourself.

What should I do if the rented equipment is damaged?

Do not continue using damaged equipment. Bring it to a K&K location as soon as possible so that we can check its safety, arrange an exchange and document the damage.

May I repair or modify rented equipment myself?

No. Do not drill, adjust, repair or permanently modify rented equipment yourself. Always contact our team if there is a problem.
